Songkranti Alliance, a socio-cultural movement and a platform of committed artists and musicians who believe in bringing about a change in the cultural arena is all set to celebrate the first ever day long “Chaitro Songkranti Festival” on 13 April, 2012 corresponding to 30 Chaitro, Bongabda 1418, at Kalabagan Krira Chakra Ground, Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
The daylong array of events unclosed with a Shadhu Shongo, followed by songs of famed heritage artists Kangalini Sufia, Shahjahan Munshi, Tuntun Shah, Latif Shah, Hashem Chistry, Nohir Shah, Bimol Shadhu and Palagaan by Saidur Rahman Boyati and his troupe and Kobi Lorai.
Post afternoon session featured the following band and solo performers, Anan & friends, Bohemian, Elita & Retake, Chitkar, Leela, Maqsood O’ dHAKA, Mehreen, Nemesis, Shahed O’ Gachh, Shayan, Shironamhin, Shunnyo and Samogeet. What more, a scintillating performance by the Naur Fire Spinners.
